Sindhi Business Network

Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 9, 2026
Last updated: September 9, 2026

The short version

Sindhi Business Network is a directory of Sindhi-owned businesses. Business owners give us a name, an email, a password and their business details, and approved listings are public. Visitors who want a business's phone number or address leave their name, phone and email, and we pass those to that business. We run no analytics, show no ads and take no payments. Email us and we will delete what we hold about you.

1. Who we are

We run the Sindhi Business Network website at sbnworld.com and the SBN Portal mobile app (together, the Service). The Service is developed by iAppSolution. This policy explains what data we collect, who sees it and how to have it removed.

2. Business owners

When you register a business you give us your name, your email address, a password and your business name. We store a bcrypt hash of the password and cannot read it back. From the dashboard you can then add the details that make up your listing: a description, category, phone, email, website, street address, city, state and postcode, opening hours, founding year, a logo, a cover image, gallery photos, and products or services with prices.

A listing goes live only after an admin approves it. Once approved, the following are public to anyone on the internet and are included in search engine sitemaps: business name, description, category, city and state, logo, cover and gallery images, opening hours, founding year, products and prices, and approved reviews.

Your phone number, email, website and street address are shown only to visitors who have left their contact details (see section 3), to you, and to admins.

3. Visitors who unlock contact details

To see a business's phone, email, website or full address you fill in your name, phone number and email. We store those, together with which businesses you unlocked, when, and how many times. The business you unlocked sees your name, phone, email and those view counts, and may contact you. Admins can see the same.

We set a cookie called sbn_lead so you do not have to fill in the form again. It holds a random token, nothing else, and lasts one year.

4. Reviews

You can leave a star rating and a comment on a business after unlocking its contact details. Reviews are hidden until an admin approves them. An approved review shows your name, your rating, your comment and the date, publicly. Your phone and email are never shown with it.

5. The networking ledger

Members can record one-to-one meetings with other members, references they pass on, and business they receive. A reference can include a customer's name, phone number, email and what they need. This is visible to the member who received the reference and to admins. If you enter another person's details here, you must have their permission to share them.

6. Events

Events published on the Service show the organiser's name, venue, address, dates, ticket price and registration link publicly.

7. Uploaded images

Logos, cover images and gallery photos are stored on our own server. Each image is re-encoded on upload, which removes embedded metadata such as camera details and location, and is given a random file name. Product images are links you supply, not uploads.

8. Cookies and sessions

The website sets two cookies: a sign-in session cookie that lasts 30 days, and the sbn_lead cookie described in section 3. There are no analytics or advertising cookies and no third-party cookies. The mobile app uses no cookies; it keeps a sign-in token, valid for 30 days, in the phone's secure storage.

9. Password reset

If you ask for a password reset we email you a link that works for one hour. We record the IP address the request came from, to spot abuse. That is the only place we store an IP address.

10. The mobile app

SBN Portal is for business owners and admins only. It asks for access to your photo library when you choose a logo, cover or gallery photo, and for nothing else. It does not use your location, contacts, camera or microphone and sends no push notifications.

11. Third parties

Password reset emails are sent through our email provider. Business pages link out to Google Maps and WhatsApp; nothing is sent to either until you tap the link. We use no analytics, no ad networks, no payment processors and no tracking of any kind.

12. Server logs

Our web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time and requested path). We use them to keep the Service running and to investigate abuse.

13. How long we keep data and how to delete it

We keep accounts, listings, contact-unlock records, reviews and ledger entries until you ask us to remove them. There is not yet a delete button in the Service. Email us from the address on your account, or with the phone and email you gave when unlocking contact details, and we will delete your account, your listing, your contact record or your review. Business owners can delete their own products, photos, events and ledger entries from the dashboard at any time.

14. Children's privacy

The Service is for businesses and their customers and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Your rights

Under laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, GDPR and CCPA you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data. Everything we hold about you is described in sections 2 to 9. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.

16. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
